William Blake wrote "Joy and woe are woven fine,
a clothing for the soul divine." He believed in a "willful innocence", where when we have lost
the child's innocence and have come face to face with the sorrows of life, we choose to return
to a form of innocence where we, as is commonly said, see the world through rose colored
glasses. In honor of Bernina's 75th anniversary, I chose to incorporate 75 rosy
influences in my life into a unified ensemble. Life's odyssey is made up of so many
stories, but it is the sum of life's chapters that make us who are are. We can choose to
dwell on the negative or focus on the positive. I wanted this design to reflect how
all the positive influences can come together to make our lives a thing of beauty. It
is an odyssey of understanding where I have been and where I am going. It is my hope
the viewer will be inspired to see their own world through rose colored glasses and celebrate the good and beautiful in their own lives.
